A new report from Counterpoint Research reveals that the Samsung Galaxy S25 family has officially outsold the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
The research compares sales performance between February and December of each lineup’s release year. During that period, the Galaxy S25 series achieved 5% higher sales compared to the Galaxy S24 family.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra played a major role in this success, selling 7% more units than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra over the same timeframe.
Interestingly, the Galaxy S25 lineup initially started below the S24 series in February, matched its predecessor in March, and then consistently outperformed it through December.
The S25 Ultra even recorded month-over-month sales increases in July and October, eventually securing a spot among the Top 10 best-selling smartphones of 2025.
In terms of sales distribution, the Ultra model continues to dominate Samsung’s flagship lineup. The S24 Ultra accounted for 45% of total S24 series sales, while the S25 Ultra slightly improved that share to 46%. The base Galaxy S25 represented 35% of sales compared to 36% for the S24, while both the S24+ and S25+ models maintained a steady 19% share within their respective generations.
Samsung’s Ultra model clearly remains the key driver of flagship sales.
